What does the job market look like?

Employment of Surgical technologies is expected to grow faster than average for all occupations through the year 2010 as the volume of surgeries increases. The number of surgical procedures is expected to rise as the population grows and ages. As the 'baby boomer' generation enters retirement age, the over 50 population will account for a large portion of the general population. Older people generally require more surgical procedures.
