Entrepreneurial

The 12-credit Entrepreneurial Certificate program is part of the Department of Business Studies at NHCTC. This program is designed for those who have an idea and/or are interested in starting their own business. The subjects presented in the Certificate will give the entrepreneur the necessary knowledge, skills, and resources to transform an idea into a marketable product/service. The program consists of six (6) one-and-a-half (1.5)
credit-hour courses and one (1) three (3) credit-hour course, focused on entrepreneurship and other areas related to a new venture start-up.

The program is unique, in that each student is assigned a "Mentor" who will guide the student through the process of start-up and implementation. Each course in the program is delivered by a team of academics and business professionals, and augmented by online resources, such as the New Hampshire Virtual Business Incubator (www.nhvbi.org) and the Small Business Administration. Upon completion of the Certificate, the student will have a marketable business plan.

The Certificate is open to all students and individuals who have a passion for being their own bosses and/or have an idea they want to become reality.

This Certificate program provides the entrepreneur with the major components necessary for the growth and most importantly the sustainability of his/her enterprise: a mentored environment, the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively plan in an environment of uncertainty, and the chance to "incubate".
